NAROK: The County Government of Narok will be having annual prayer meetings where the clergy will be leading the county staff and residents in prayers to invite God’s guidance in all their annual endeavours. Speaking during the launch of the meetings at a prayer breakfast held at the County headquarters, Narok Governor Patrick Ntutu said the prayers will foster development and unity in the county.
According to Kenya News Agency, Narok Inter-denominational Chairman Bishop Peter Nakola led a host of Bishops and pastors to pray for the county, where they called on the county employees to use the opportunity God has given them to better the lives of the people. The clergy insisted on accountability and transparency, saying this is the only way the county government will be able to serve the residents well.
While commending the clergy for organising the prayer meeting, Governor Ntutu asked the county employees to serve the residents with all their strength as if they were doing it to God. ‘We should do this work like there is no tomorrow. We have to leave our county better than we found it,’ said the governor.
Ntutu also challenged the departmental leaders to avoid making self-centred decisions, saying every decision made should be for the good of the people they lead. ‘Sometimes you make decisions that are not friendly to all, but at the end of the day, the said decisions should benefit everyone,’ he advised.
The prayers did not only seek divine guidance for the employees but also prayed for the continued peace, prosperity, and development of Narok County. Present during the prayer meeting were Narok Deputy Governor Tamalinye Koech, Members of Parliament Agnes Pareyio (Narok North), Johanah Ngeno (Emurrua Dikirr), Kitilai Ole Ntutu (Narok South), and East Africa Legislative Assembly (EALA) MP David Sankok.
