Ouagadougou: Parents of campers in the second wave of the Faso Mebo holiday camp organized a day of solidarity and patriotism on Friday. They handed over school kits worth one million 250 thousand CFA francs to the wards of the nation and two tons of cement to support the Faso Mebo presidential initiative.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the initiative is from the parents of the second wave of the Faso Mebo holiday camp. School kits worth 1,250 million CFA francs for the benefit of children of the nation, as well as 2 tonnes of cement for the presidential initiative Faso Mebo, were donated.

Thus, 400 children of the Defense and Security Forces who fell for the nation will each have a school kit consisting of notebooks, pens, a math set, a slate, pencils, and colored pencils. "We wanted to bring a smile to the children of our fallen FDS soldiers. So we launched a voluntary fundraising campaign," said Kassoum Ouedraogo, president of the parents of campers in the second wave of the Faso Mebo Holiday Camp.

Captain Gustave Bambara, representing the Director General of Social Action and Psychological Services of the Armed Forces, thanked the day's donors. "This is truly a commendable action being taken today because it will have a positive impact on the lives of the beneficiaries. This donation helps us help orphans. It's building a life for the future," notes Captain Bambara.

The parents of the campers called on the entire population to support the presidential initiative Faso Mebo and to show solidarity by accompanying our FDS. In addition to the cement donated to the Faso Mebo presidential initiative, the campers' parents provided labor by helping to lay paving stones on the site.
