Post: Police Seize Stolen Alcohol Worth Sh4.5 Million in Nanyuki

Nanyuki: Police in Nanyuki, Laikipia County, have recovered liquor worth Sh4.5 million believed to have been stolen from a local depot. Speaking to the press, Laikipia East Sub County police Commander Daniel Kitavi said that they nabbed two suspects after a tip-off from the members of the public.

According to Kenya News Agency, the suspects are expected to be arraigned in court upon completion of the investigation. 'About 10 people broke into a depot at railways in Nanyuki and made away with bottled alcohol worth Sh7.5 million. We later got information and launched an investigation. We have been able to recover some,' said Kitavi.

He further stated that they are pursuing the eight suspects still at large in order to recover the rest of the alcohol stolen last week. He urged members of the public to volunteer information that would aid in their mission. During the depot break-in, a guard manning the depot was seriously injured and admitted to hospital, but has since been discharged.
