Post: President Kaïs Saïed Vows to Retain Tunisian Assets Amidst Anti-Corruption Efforts.

Tunis: “There is no question of giving up what belongs to the Tunisian people,” declared President of the Republic Kaïs Saïed during a surprise visit to Henchir ChaSl and Bir Ali Ben Khalifa in the governorate of Sfax, as well as the governorate of Kairouan. The President emphasized the continuation of the fight against corruption, asserting its vital importance for the nation.

According to Agence Tunis Afrique Presse, Henchir Chal, recognized as the second largest olive grove in the world, spans over 5,187.24 hectares and provides employment to 435 permanent staff and 385 casual workers. Despite being a state-managed property responsible for harvesting, monitoring, and olive oil extraction, the grove is currently facing certain challenges that need immediate attention.

During his visit, President Saïed interacted with citizens, listening closely to their concerns. This interaction was part of a series of visits aimed at addressing the demands of citizens across Tunisia, as stated in a press release from th
e Presidency. The President assured that efforts are being made tirelessly to fulfill these demands.

Later, the President visited the Aghlabid Basins in Kairouan to assess the current condition of this UNESCO World Heritage site, further emphasizing his commitment to preserving Tunisia’s cultural and historical assets.
